About the Startup Accelerator
Iowa Startup Accelerator is a 90-day seed stage startup accelerator in Cedar Rapids, IA. We select about 10 companies to receive seed funding and mentoring inside an intensive program designed to rapidly build new tech startups ready for scale.
About the Job
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Program Manager to work closely with the Managing Director on the planning and execution of the 2014 program. The job will be considered part-time. Hours will fluctuate, and be especially intense from July-November.
This is a big job - especially in Fall 2014. Here's some key dates:
May 2014: Hire this position
June 22, 2014: applications close
July 1, 2014: New location opens
August 4, 2014: program begins
November 6, 2014: program ends
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
Develop marketing strategies
Create, review, and update all marketing and program event materials
Recruit the best possible startup applicants to the program
Assist in all aspects of applicant selection, tracking and follow-up
Coordinate development and execution of all program events
Assist in fundraising from sponsors for the 501(c)(3) non-profit Iowa Startup Accelerator
Assist in managing investor relationships for the Iowa Startup Accelerator seed fund
Work with the teams directly in the program, including weekly meetings with each team, mentor assignment and coordination, and facilitatingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
