Alliant Energy is currently recruiting for engineering internship opportunities for Summer 2015, however, the right candidate could start as a part-time intern this spring. These positions will be located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

As an Electrical Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience within your area of discipline, be part of a variety of projects, and work alongside experienced Engineers.
The individuals who fill these positions will work on projects that will support delivery system planning activity. Such activity may include CASCADE updates, loss studies/analysis, load flow studies/analysis, Distributed Generation study/analysis, load and/or contingency database updates and a special summer project.
Alliant Energy exposes interns to the different facets of the utility business, which we do through job shadowing with other departments such as Substation Engineering, System Protection, Project Management as well as others.
We are looking for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; power emphasis preferred. Students at all levels with an interest in the utility industry will be considered, however preference will be given to Juniors and Seniors.
Part-time hours during the Fall and/or Spring semesters are available with full-time business hours in the summer.
