Process Engineer
DuPont Industrial Biosciences is looking for a results-driven, motivated process engineer who will provide technical support for a biological process manufacturing facility which includes new products, optimizing existing process, and designing new technologies.
As a Process Engineer at our Cedar Rapids location, you will be part of a team responsible for hands-on development of biological production processes, providing technical support for the facility which will involve monitoring process performance, troubleshooting and problem solving, as well as capital project support and equipment design. The successful candidate will be an active participant in cross-functional project teams, global supply initiatives, process engineering teams, and operational improvement teams.
Responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting, problem solving and proactive support of the multiple process areas in the facility (fermentation, recovery, liquid and solid formulation, utilities, capital)
Driving technical improvements for processes through collaboration with on-site teams to monitor and manage critical process performance in the facility, including interaction with operations, maintenance, and quality
Supporting new product and technology introductions to the plant, interfacing with global teams including R&D
Working with local and global capital teams focusing on biological process design, including sterile operation and sanitary design for expansion and site capital projects
Monitoring and reporting on process performance, product cost, and operational logistics as well as developing technical assumptions and costs for annual budget
Designing and developing operations, equipment, process, and methods
Requirements:
BS/MS in Biochemical or Chemical Engineering
Prior experience in a liquid chemical processing facility preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work virtually and connect with engineers globally
Strong team player
Self-starter with good organizational skills
Some travel required
