Job Description

The BU Technology Lead will report to the BU Technology leader and will be responsible for driving the technology needs for the BU (business unit) regarding Silicon, SOI, SiGe and HBT. Technology coordination responsibilities involve interaction with foundry and sourcing for long term capacity and diversification planning. Additional responsibilities include contributing to Design Automation (DA) tools and IT requirements, design methodology, and custom automation.

This position can be located in any of our four core design sites:
Cedar Rapids, IA, Irvine, CA, Newbury Park, CA or Woburn, MA. In this position, you have the opportunity to make a uniquely large impact on the success of the company by working closely with multiple teams and functions throughout the organization.
The BU Technology Lead will be responsible for the Mobile Solutions Business BU active technology roadmap, IP, automation and methodology while working closely with a team of highly technical engineers. #LI-DB1


Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Technology Roadmap:

  • Driving the BU technology roadmap for SOI, SiGe and HBT supporting key connectivity products
  • Drive 20% annual cost reduction efforts
  • Carefully coordinate with Technology and Manufacturing Group (TMG) to ensure BU needs are met in a timely manner.

Technology coordination:

  • Monthly communication of technology use status to facilitate capacity and diversity planning
  • Maintain database of technology usage within new connectivity product developments
    • Technologies include 40/65/90/110nm SOI, 130/180nm Si, SiGe, HBT/BiHEMT, BAW/TCSAW, IPD

Advanced development support through MPW and IP development:

  • Coordinate and drive IP development tape outs for new technology adoption
  • Drive new architecture and circuit IP development with the design teams
  • Coordinate repeating IP review meetings to drive communication throughout the BU

Support the BU Technology Leader through consultation on:

Design automation and methodology

  • Contribute to the Design Automation (DA) tools roadmap for the BU
  • Support the DA team to drive productivity and tool improvements.
    • Cadence Virtuoso/APD, Agilent ADS, EMX/HFSS

IT development:

  • Contribute to the definition of systems managing documentation, IP and communication
  • Working with the IT team to drive implementation and use of office documentation and communication tools

Job Requirements

Semiconductor reliability & qualification understanding
Product engineering and validation and test engineering knowledge
BS degree and 12 years experience, or MS and 8 to 10 years or PhD and 6 years
